Red Tail Boa Constrictors
The taxonomy of Boa Constrictors, and Red Tail boas has changed much over the years. Many dissertations and books have been written - for now we'll talk about two groups Locales and Morphs.
Locales
Because taxonomy has not caught up too the many nuances of boa constrictors, hobbyist utilize the term 'locale' to describe where the boas are from. Many breeders and hobbyist have worked hard to keep wild caught blood lines pure.
Morphologically Hog Island Locale boas are different from boas from Colombia, however both are considered Boa imperator.

Morph Boas
Nature has incredible variability, and no surprise over the years those animals have been caught and inserted into breeding programs. Traits like albinism have proven simple recessive genetics. Other traits are beautiful in heterozygous animals, with one copy of the gene. Yes sadly, homozygous animals with two copies have fatal flaws.
Over the decades breeders have combined and created incredible animals.
