I am Jon Poff, my family and I care for dragons and serpents.

Dragon Serpents was born from a passion for raising and producing quality animals that will make incredible pets and an outstanding addition to your breeding projects.

 

Dragon Serpents is working with genetically diverse breeding groups of:

Gila Monsters (Heloderma suspectum)

Beaded Lizards (Heloderma exasperatum, horridum & alvarezi)

Hog Island Boas (Boa imperator)
Pearl Island Boas (Boa sabogae)

Kahl Albinos (Boa imperator)

​Since the 90s I've kept, studied, bred and obsessed over reptiles. While I got to work with red tail boas, tegus, green tree pythons, cobras and a gaboon viper, of course ball pythons and a list of others. Through friends and lucky opportunities, I was fortunate enough to interact with a ton of other species including several species of rattle snakes in the desert of Arizona.

Gila Monsters and Beaded Lizards were the unobtainable dream.

Fast forward to February 2025, putting the finishing touches on this website with my incredible wife and children, preparing to pair some gila monsters in the coming weeks. It still doesn't feel real to be working with gila monsters and beaded lizards. I finally know what those wild osteoderms feel like.

My other passion is red tail boas - or boa constrictors 

 

We have put together a genetically diverse group of Hog Island boas where no siblings will be bred together. They are hands down one of, if not my favorite snakes.

 

We've also put together a small group of Kahl albino boas.
